The safety of your children and our staff is our #1 priority this spring. Below is a list of the safety measures we are taking, as well as things to consider before enrolling your child in a class with us this spring.


  • All participants must sign a waiver releasing SYT from any liability related to contraction of COVID-19 and other related illness before students may attend a class.

  • Students with a cough should not attend. We recognize coughs can be allergy or cold related. Any child with a cough, regardless of the reason, should not attend class.

  • If your child is particularly vulnerable to COVID-19 because of any risk factors, please refrain from enrolling your child in a class.

  • Refrain from sending your child to class if your child or anyone else you and your child have been around shows symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, fever, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, loss of taste or smell).

  • If a student or immediate family member has traveled out of the state or country, a two week quarantine is required before returning to SYT. SYT must be notified.

  • In the case that you or your child test positive for COVID-19 after attending class, please inform SYT as soon as possible.



  • All students must be pre-registered with payment.

  • All waivers and release forms must be submitted online before the first day class.

  • SYT staff, with masks on, will meet students outside at designated drop-off area.

  • Adults aside from SYT staff will not be allowed downstairs to the class space

  • Temperatures will be taken by SYT staff for each student at the beginning of each class before allowing them to enter the building

  • On the first day, parents should meet us at the check-in table with their child, in the West parking lot (Liberty St) – See map below…

  • After the first day of registration, students may be dropped off at the designated area each week.






  • Parents will pick up students at the drop-off location

  • Please arrive 10 minutes before class is scheduled to end


  • Each instructor and student is required to wear a mask at all times.

  • While in the class space instructor and students will remain 6 feet apart distance at every moment possible. We will make every effort to adjust the class so that we minimize physical contact, including refraining from shaking hands, hugging or other physical contact.

  • Each class will remain separate from each other to minimize contact, and classes will stagger start times in order to minimize the amount of students entering the building at one time.

  • Class size is limited to 10 students (3rd-12th grade) and  8 students (K4-2nd grade).


  • All students will be required to wash their hands/sanitize first thing when they enter the class area each week, and upon departure each day.

  • Classroom and common use areas will be cleaned every day before and after class.

  • All classroom doors will remain open.

  • Chapman Cultural Center will increase cleaning in all restroom areas as well as providing hand sanitizer in hallways and entrances.

  • Crafts will be individual and supplies will not be shared. All will be contained in individual bags.

  • Snacks (snacks brought from home) will be eaten outside with teacher.

  • Although we will not have in-person performances, the end of the semester performances will be filmed. Recordings will be sent out to every participant so families can have a viewing party at home to watch their child’s hard work!

  • If SYT is forced to cancel classes due to any new developments related to COVID-19 based off of state requirements, a full refund will be issued for the affected camps.
