Summer Camps

Make this summer unforgettable with SYT’s exciting theatre camps! From building characters to creating full productions, our camps offer immersive experiences in a fun, supportive environment. Led by passionate instructors dedicated to nurturing young artists, these camps are where creativity comes alive, skills are developed, and lifelong memories are made.

Week-long camps begin the week of June 1-5, 2026, and run every week through July 27-31, 2026. There will not be any camps during the week of June 29-July 3, 2026.

Tuition

Tuition may be paid in full at the time of registration or through an automatic payment plan set up through CourseStorm. You can choose the payment plan option at checkout when you register.

Scholarships

SYT’s Scholarship Fund is financially supported by the generous donations from our community. Scholarships are awarded based on need, using the free- and reduced-price lunch eligibility requirements in Spartanburg County.

Early Registration Discount

Register before 12:00pm on Monday, May 18, 2026, to receive $20 off each camp. When registering online, you will be prompted to accept the Early Registration Discount at checkout. Early registration discount does not apply to K4-K5 camps.

Policies

Cancellation

If you cancel more than 7 days before the first day of your class, tuition less a $30 cancellation fee will be refunded. If you cancel less than 7 days before the first day of your class, only a refund or credit of 50% of the tuition cost will be issued. Once classes have started, no refunds will be given.

Potty Training

Please note that K4-K5 students must be fully potty-trained and able to use the bathroom by themselves. SYT staff may not change diapers or enter the bathroom with a child.

Lunch Break

For campers taking a 9:00am-12:00pm camp and a 1:00-4:00pm camp on the same week, campers are welcome to stay at the theatre and eat lunch during the break between camps. Lunch will not be provided. An adult will be in the building during this break, but there will not be an organized activity.

  • Production Camp: The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf

  • Performance opportunities, film performance, devised theatre, acting for stage and screen, collaboration, creative exploration

  • Devising Drama

    Devised Theatre is a method of theatre creation in which the performing ensemble creates the script through collaboration. It allows for experimentation and exploration, as well as a chance to develop performance, writing, and teamwork skills. 

  • Making Movie Magic

    Lights! Camera! Action! This all-day camp will give you a crash course in the film industry, technique, and lingo. You will spend the week making your own movie that is sure to receive rave reviews! The final movie will be sent to all camp participants a few weeks after camp is over.

Rising 7th-12th Grade: Teen Studios

  • Crew Crash Course

    This camp will provide a crash course on crewing by learning what goes into the set, costumes, props, lights, and sound of the rising 3rd-6th Production Camp running the same week. Taught by the designers of both the Spartanburg Youth Theatre and the Spartanburg Little Theatre shows, you will get to learn what goes into taking a show from a script to the stage!
