2025 Summer Theatre Camps
Summer camps will begin June 2-6, 2025, and run every week through July 28-August 1, 2025.
Please note, there will not be any camps the week of June 30-July 4, 2025.

SUMMER CAMPS
IMAGINATION & PLAY
Rising K4-K5
$105 | 9am-11am | 1 week | Monday-Friday
Our one-week camps for rising K4-K5 explore creative play, music and art, while learning acting and storytelling techniques. Camps at this age are intended to help ignite the imagination and encourage group play. There will not be a play or performance in camps for this age range, but rather a sharing of activities.
Rising K4-K5 students must be fully potty-trained and able to use the bathroom by themselves. SYT staff may not change diapers nor enter the bathroom with a child.
ACTOR-IN-TRAINING
Rising 1st-2nd grade
$175 | 9am-12pm | 1 week | Monday-Friday
Our one-week camps for rising 1st-2nd graders continue to develop teamwork, self-expression, and imagination, while introducing acting techniques and stage movement skills through a specific fun setting or theme. Camps at this age are intended to introduce young children to the concepts of theatre and encourage group play. There will not be a play or performance in camps for this age range, but rather a sharing of activities.
TECHNIQUE CLASSES
Rising 3rd-6th grade
Half day camps (3 hours): $175 | 9am-12pm or 1-4pm | 1 week | Monday-Friday
Full day camps (6 hours): $275 | 9am-3pm | 1 week | Monday-Friday
Our one-week camps for rising 3rd-6th graders introduce theatre techniques for those who are curious, and provide intermediate-level performance camps for those who are ready for the next step of the theatre process. Some camps at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during camp, but students will not be performing a full production, except for the one production camp offered each summer.
STORYBOOK LIVE CAMPS
Rising 5th-12th grade
6 hour camps: $275 | 9am-3pm | 1 week | Monday-Friday
8 hour camps: $325 | 9am-5pm | 1 week | Monday-Friday
Our one-week Storybook Live! camps for rising 5th-12th graders provide a full-production performance opportunity for young actors. SYT premiered its virtual series Storybook Live! in 2020. In these camps, actors will film storybooks that will be sent to schools for the 2025-26 school year and included in SYT’s Storybook Live! virtual library.
PLEASE NOTE: Students interested in a Storybook Live! (Rising 5th-12th grade) camp will have to submit a pre-screen application, and should have relevant acting experience through a class/camp at SYT or elsewhere, and/or previous stage experience. The application will be available when camps are posted in March 2025.
TEEN STUDIOS
Rising 7th-12th grade
Half day camps (3 hours): $175 | 9am-12pm or 1-4pm | 1 week | Monday-Friday
Full day camps (6 hours): $275 | 9am-3pm | 1 week | Monday-Friday
Our one-week camps for rising 7th-12th graders provide both introductory and intermediate theatre training, as well as performance opportunities for certain camps.
TEEN ADVANCED STUDIOS
10th-12th grade
$325 | 9am-5pm | 3 weeks | Monday-Friday
This camp typically rehearses in the evening the two weeks before camp (5:30-8:30pm), and then rehearses during the day during camp week (9am-5pm).
Our three-week advanced teen studio camps for rising 10th-12th graders provide advanced theatre training and exposure to more mature theatre pieces. The camp culminates in a full performance of musical or play (all age and language appropriate) that is open to the public.
PLEASE NOTE: Students interested in the Teen Advanced Studio camp will have to submit a virtual audition as well as a pre-screen application. Actors applying should have relevant acting experience through a class/camp at SYT or elsewhere, and previous stage experience. The application will be available when camps are posted in March 2025.
K4-K5 STUDENTS

SYT camps are open to children in rising K4-12th grades. K4-K5 students must be fully potty-trained and able to use the bathroom by themselves. SYT staff may not change diapers nor enter the bathroom with a child.

Whether you are an aspiring performer or designer or just want to build confidence and make new friends, the Spartanburg Youth Theatre is the place to be! Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please remember to register early, as many of our classes fill up quickly.
TUITION

Tuition may be paid in full at the time of registration or through a payment plan set up automatically through CourseStorm online. Payment plans are only available for classes over $100. You can choose the payment plan option at checkout when you register.
SCHOLARSHIPS

SYT’s Scholarship Fund is financially supported by the generous donations form our community. Scholarships are awarded based on need, using the free-and-reduced-lunch requirements in Spartanburg county. For more information on this scale, visit https://www.benefits.gov/benefit/1967.

A scholarship application will be listed on this page when camp listings are posted. Applications will be accepted until the listed deadline date.
REGISTER EARLY AND GET A DISCOUNT!

An early registration discount is offered every summer for those who enroll before a certain date. The discount is $20 off the cost of each camp.

Early registration discount does not apply to K4-K5 camps.

When registering online, you will be prompted to accept the Early Registration Discount at checkout.
CANCELLATION

If you cancel more 7 days before the first day of your camp, tuition less a $30 Cancellation Fee will be refunded. If you cancel less than 7 days before the first day of your camp, only a refund or credit of 50% of the tuition cost will be issued.

Once camps have started, no refunds will be given.
